Recto Description
Folio L Recto begins by telling the story of the city of Jericho, in the valley of Jordan and the miracles performed there by the Lord. The second paragraph tells the story of the Prophet Elijah and his disciple Elisha. The texts describes Elijahs ascent to the kingdom of heaven on a chariot of fire, where he will live until the time of the Antichrist.
Description of Illustrations
Upper-Middle
Depicted is the City of Jericho, after the Lord tore down the city's outer walls. This is the first time this woodcut appears in the Chronicle.
Bottom Right
Depicted here is the Prophet Elijah on board a chariot of fire. Just before ascending to Heaven he turns to Elisha below him and gives him his cloak.
